Huron-Perth Public Health has responded to recent news of the spreading Omicron variant across the province.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen says over the past 2 weeks more than 150 cases of the virus have been observed within Huron-Perth and she expects the count to continue to rise.
She adds new measures taken by the government will help curb the virus spread in the region and protect local healthcare capacity.
Public health continues to encourage those to watch for symptoms of COVID-19 and self-isolate should they test positive or are a close contact of a positive case.
