Huron Perth Public Health provided an update today on the status of Covid-19 in the Region.

There are 23 active cases with 3 residents in hospital.

Deaths are unchanged at 50.

There are currently 2 presumptive cases of a Covid-19 variant of concern in the Region. Confirmation can take up to 2 weeks to get the results back. Provincial laboratories don’t automatically do genome sequencing on all presumptive cases. They are treated as such regardless by the local Health Unit.

There are a high percentage of the new cases that are not adhering to the local health guidelines and restrictions.

Get togethers, socially distanced and while wearing masks, are limited to 10 people.

There is 1 active workplace outbreak.

The province launched their own Covid-19 vaccination system and customer service system. Huron Perth Public Health will continue to book their vaccinations using their own system.

The list of eligible residents who are able to book vaccination appointments has been expanded (criteria below are in ADDITION to past criteria). Confirm at hpph.ca/vaccine
