Huron Perth Public health has added 14 cases today in the Region. They have 50 presumptive cases of Variants of Concern identified in the area. The Health Unit continues to see virus transmission due to people getting together with others from outside their household and not wearing a mask or physically distancing.
There are 2 active workplace outbreaks. HPPH doesn’t report the locations of outbreaks due to confidentiality.
The state of the Region in terms of ICU and Acute care occupancy (as of April 15th) has us the second lowest in cases per 100,000 of resident. Chatham Kent is sitting at 29.2 cases and 37.9 in Huron Perth. In comparison Middlesex London currently sits at 181.3 and Wellington Dufferin Guelph at 165.8.
Positivity has us second again to Chatham Kent. They sit at 2.01% and HP at 2.06%. Wellington Dufferin Guelph sits at 7.62%
ICU capacity for Huron Perth sits at 70% and acute at 72%. The same variables in Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health has them at 76% ICU and 78% acute.
HPPH has administered 34,104 vaccinations. 80 and over they have 99.8 percent of residents vaccinated, 75 to 79 is 94.6 percent, 70-74 100 percent and 14.9% of those 65-69. They have opened 1400 vaccination appointment spots for the week of May 4th. HPPH does not allow pre-registration for vaccinations.
There has been no chance in eligibility criteria for vaccinations. It remains at residents 65 years and older.
Pharmacy locations began being able to vaccinate people 40 years and older as of tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20th. Vaccinations at those sites are handled directly by the locations in question.
