With Covid-19 still spreading across the province and variants of concern having been identified in Huron-Perth, Huron Perth Public Health encourages residents to observe Easter, Passover, Ramadan and other spring holidays safely.
HPPH is offering some tips for celebrating safely and protecting yourself and others:
- If you live alone, consider spending spring holidays with one other household.
- Alternatives to in-person gatherings include:
- video calls
- virtual dinner party
- a virtual egg hunt or egg decorating contest
- drop-off or physically distanced doorstep gift/Easter egg exchanges
Get togethers where physical distance is not maintained, and where masks must be removed to eat and drink pose a greater risk of spreading Covid-19. If you are planning to attend an in-person gathering with people from outside your household, stick to the gathering limits.
Huron Perth is in the Yellow Protect level of the Provincial Covid-19 Response Framework. In this level social gatherings are permitted with 10 people indoors or 265 people outdoors where the following public health measures are followed:
- Do not attend a gathering if you feel ill, even mildly ill.
- Maintain two metres physical distance from people you don’t live with
- Wear a mask or face covering
- Do not share food or drink
- Wash your hands frequently & thoroughly.
