Huron Perth Public Health Named Living Wage Employer

Huron-Perth Public Health has cracked the list as a living wage employer by United Way Perth-Huron.

Kathy Vassilakos, Board of Health Chair says income is an important determinant of health and a living wage not only improves someone’s life but also benefits the broader community.

United Way Perth-Huron Executive Director Ryan Erb says the continued leadership of public health and advocacy in support of building stronger local communities is greatly appreciated.

A living wage is based on a 35 hour work week weighted on a family of four. Once government factor and deductions are factored in along with everyday expenses such as housing, food, utilities, childcare and transportation.

The living wage in Perth-Huron is set at $17.95/hour.
