Huron OPP charge a Central Huron Resident after attempted theft

Huron OPP have charged a Central Huron resident and they remain in custody after incident in Vanastra last week.

Last Tuesday shortly after 7pm officers responded to a St. Charles Place address to assist a victim who had made a citizens arrest.

The victim had stopped a thief attempting to steal his license plates.

The victim noticed the theft in progress and attempted to enter the suspects vehicle which was revealed to be stolen.

During the incident the accused assaulted the victim and caused minor injuries.

Charged is a 35 year old of Central Huron with assault, theft under 5000, possession of property obtained from crime and failure to comply with a probation order.
