With dead fish appearing across the shoreline in Huron-Kinloss, the townships is providing tips to the public should they notice more washing up.

The township says from time to time die offs can occur on the Lake Huron shoreline which most in part is storm surges, oxygen depletion and disease.

If you encounter large numbers of dead fish or other wildlife on the beach to take photos and note the location, report it to the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority or Lake Huron Coastal Centre to support ongoing research.

The township’s Community Services Department does not deal with clean up with dead fish on the shoreline.
