County council has rejected a request for funds from Huron Hospice.
The group asked council for $650,000 dollars in assistance but that request got a thumbs down from council members.
After a lengthy discussion it was decided that should fall under the provincial mandate to fund health care and it was not something they were prepared to do.
The money was going to be used for an expansion at the Hospice.
