Huron County OPP are warning residents again to be careful of sending cash payments through the mail as you could be falling for a scam.
Last month two Huron County seniors received calls from a scammer, one impersonating a neighbour, another a grandson. In both cases, the scammer told them they were in a car accident in Montreal and needed cash for the other driver.
Both victims sent $4000 in cash to an address in Montreal.
Huron County OPP confirmed an investigation was launched alongside Montreal Police.
OPP are reminding residents to be careful with sending money, scammers often will play into urgency or fear into getting money from victims.
