Huron County Gaol Behind the Bars Tour Returns

Behind the Bars is back at the Huron County Gaol.

The tour experience allows visitors to speak with actors who portray real people who were in or worked at the gaol when it was in operation from 1841-1924.

For the rest of July and August, visitors can take part in the tour as well as volunteers who want to help out also being encouraged to join in.

Kyra Lewis, Program Coordinator with Behind the Bars says they’ve received great support in years past while also noting the work the volunteer actors put on for the tour.

“It’s always really awesome to hear the feedback that visitors give us. Our actors are really dedicated they get research that is provided from our archives and other sources so they can give a really accurate performance” said Lewis.

The Behind the Bars tour at the Huron County Gaol runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9pm throughout the rest of the month and into August.
