Humane Society Warns to Not Leave Pets Inside Vehicles

Hot temperatures continuing heading into the weekend has the Stratford-Perth Humane Society also reminding pet owners to never leave pets in hot cars during the summer month.

The humane society says even on mild days with cars parked in the shade with the windows down can still reach deadly temperatures.

Cats and dogs have a limited ability to sweat and even a short time in a hot environment can be life threatening.

Kathrin Delutis, CEO of the Humane Society says leaving your pet unattended in a vehicle is one of the most irresponsible things a pet owner can do and is also illegal.
