The Stratford-Perth Humane Society has made an urgent appeal for donations for an injured dog in their care.
Toby came into the Stratford Perth Animal Centre with a physical exam finding an open wound on his right hind paw, brusing on the right hind leg, a dislocated left hip and multiple pelvic fractures.
The eight year old dog heads into surgery on Monday, needing several weeks to recovery.
The humane society estimates the costs could reach up to $60,000 or more by the time Toby is ready for adoption.
The society is also calling for donations for a cat named Mio in the care in Kitchner-Waterloo who has a broken rib and punctured abdomen.
Costs for Mio’s surgery are expected to reach $2500 with a plea for anyone who is able to donate to do so.
