On June 1st, the official Human Trafficking in Wellington County awareness campaign began.
Wellington County OPP, Crime Stoppers Guelph-Wellington and Victim Services Wellington all partnered together to create a webpage and work towards the shared goal of creating awareness on human trafficking in rural communities.
This campaign is made possible with a grant provided by the federal government in a two year initiative.
Integrated resources, sharing of information, a victim-centered approach and community partnerships are critical in helping police in effective response to these types of crimes.
The human trafficking initiative can be found on social media by searching HTinWC and on Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellingtons website.
