Huron Perth Public Health updated the local guidance on vaccines to advise that youth aged 12 to 17 who received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine are able to book their second dose at a shortened interval through the HPPH booking system. The second dose must be at least 28 days after the first. Pfizer is the only vaccine approved currently for youth aged 12 to 17 and is the only vaccine that will be administered to youth in keeping with age requirements.
To date 75% of Huron Perth residents 18 and older have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 37% are fully vaccinated with two. Two doses are needed for full protection against Covid-19 and variants including the Delta variant.
