Howick Resident Fails Roadside Test at RIDE Checkpoint

Accused to appear in court in January

Huron County OPP have laid an impaired driving charge on a Howick resident who failed a roadside test early Wednesday morning.

At 1:30am a driver entered a RIDE checkpoint set up in Clinton on Bayfield Road.

When speaking with the driver, police observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle which prompted officers to conduct a roadside test which the driver failed.

As a result a 21 year old of Howick was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol 80 Plus.

They were released and scheduled to appear in Goderich court on January 10th
