This past Sunday was the kick off for Bowl for Kids Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters for North Wellington.
The early kick for fundraising got off to a hot start which saw $15,000 be raised on Sunday.
This was the first event since the pandemic for Big Brothers Big Sisters to be held in person.
Marianne Christie, Executive Director says they saw a great day of everyone getting together and celebrate.
“We saw old friends and new friends and its an event where everyone can come out have fun bowling at any age and celebrate Big Brothers and Big Sisters” said Christie.
Bowling will continue later this month on February 25th with a fundraising goal of $50,000.
Locally there is still a need for volunteer Big Brothers and Big Sisters with the number of referrals for young people wanting to be connected over the past few years.
