Those living in homeless shelters or on the streets are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine dose.

People identified as homeless have been considered high-risk for contracting the virus and have been recognized to belong on the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Currently homeless in Toronto and Peel can get a vaccine dose this week with expansions to Hamilton coming soon with pop in vaccination clinics. There isn’t a timeframe when other clinics will be set up across the province for homeless in each region.

There was a plan to previously have homeless get vaccinated back in January but was put on hold due to the shortage of vaccines arriving in Canada.
