An update to the History of Wallace Township book is getting financial support from North Perth council.
David Bender came to council for support to move ahead with publishing an updated version of the book which has not been done since 1990.
Plans were in place to have the history updated in 2015 but due to illness there was some delays and there was even more delays when the pandemic arrived.
The new book follows the history using a 2019 cutoff.
In 2017, council approved a motion to provide $45,000 to the committee to print 1000 books but the funds were never distributed and instead put into the municipalities general reserve fund.
Bender requested $15,000 to divide $7500 to pay for the services to bring the book to a printable format and the other half when the book goes to press.
