MPP Randy Hillier, MP Derek Sloan and Aylmer Church of God pastor Henry Hildebrant are among those who have been charged by Stratford police in connection with an anti-lockdown protest back in April.

A total of 14 people were charged by police who were mostly organizers and speakers.

Tuesday was their court date which the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms in Toronto had asked Justice of the Peace to adjourn the case until the fall to allow the lawyer to collect evidence and the discuss the matter for a civil matter. For the time being, the suggested adjournment was set to return on August 24th at 10am.

Hillier and Sloan did not appear in the virtual court, instead represented by their lawyer.

Police alleged those who organized the anti-lockdown protest which violated Ontario’s stay-at-home order under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

Many of the speakers with the event all face similar charges and fines for gatherings across the province.
