With more freezing rain on the horizon later this evening, various meetings planned across the area are working ahead to pull the plug or at least opt to virtual meetings.

A weather advisory is in effect tonight with snow and ice pellets expected with reduced visibility and heavy and blowing snow with freezing rain in the mix causing slippery surfaces and strong easterly winds gusting up to 70km per hour for the afternoon and evening.

As a result the Upper Grand District School Board has moved their Parent Involvement Committee meeting to virtual with no in person option tonight.

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this afternoon and tonight.
