Harriston’s Greg Blagdon has smashed a record of collected can tabs to support the Legion in their efforts to purchase wheelchairs for those in need.
Greg made his rounds locally collecting tabs to fill 2L bottles which typically can around 2800 tabs and wrapped up with a total collected of 565,600 for support.
The tabs are done through a project through the Elora Legion Branch.
The collection of can tabs are sold for the pure aluminum they hold which is sent to a company in Guelph.
The branch uses the proceeds of the sales to purchase wheelchairs and walkers for those who need them.
