A multipurpose sports pad in Harriston with the Kinsmen Club could be in the near future for the town.
Interim CAO Chris Harrow presented to council this week the current updates on the project as it looks to get off the ground.
The sports pad itself is aimed to be around the arena to offer another source of recreation for residents.
Harrow says not only could this be a multi use sports pad but could expand further to grow similar to what is seen at the Palmerston Lions Park.
“Taking into thoughts and things we’ve learned from Lions Park in Palmerston and making these grounds into one desirable place that anybody in Harriston wants to go.” said Harrow.
Various fundraising events were discussed briefly which could help cut various costs for the town which also has seen the Agricultural Society express interest in the multi use pad.
Council gave the nod to President Curt McDonald to share back to the club the town has interest in helping out with further discussions expected in the future.
