John Diefenbaker school in Hanover was placed in a hold and secure on Tuesday after reports of a student possibly in possession of a gun in school.
Hanover Police investigated the claim and were able to seize a pellet pistol within the hour.
A 14 year old youth is facing a charge of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
Police say while still under early investigation there is no sign the weapon was fired at anyone or threatened with it.
