Guelph Police announced on Wednesday that they have charged a 63-year-old of Dashwood with 7 counts of sexual assault, 2 counts of sexual interference and 5 of sexual exploitation.
The charges follow an investigation into his time working as a referee at a highschool volleyball tournament in Guelph between May 2nd and 4th.
A number of female volunteers, ages 13 to 17, who were working during the tournament reported inappropriate sexual conduct towards them by the accused.
Further investigation revealed an incident of a similar nature occurred in Guelph on March 29th involving two 17 year old female workers at a volleyball game at their highschool.
The accused worked as a youth volleyball referee for over 30 years, with approximately 20 in district 4, district 8 and district 10 highschools. Local school districts have been notifed by police.
