Orders are still being accepted for Wellington County’s Green Legacy Tree Program.
Orders placed now for free with native trees arriving in the spring.
The program which started in 2004 was simply just an idea to have 150,000 trees planted to celebrate 150 years of the county quickly grew which this year in June saw 3 million trees planted.
The Green Legacy Tree Program is the largest municipal tree planting program in North America which in 2010 was recognized by the United Nations under the Billion Tree Campaign for its significant environmental contribution.
