Facing increased pressure from farmers, Premier Doug Ford is looking at backing off from proposals which would allow more housing to be built on Ontario farmland.
Leaders in farming and agriculture groups met with senior government officials to raise their issues about proposed changes to provincial land use policy that the Ford government has made to bring in new housing construction.
The pushback from farmers comes after the governments plans to increase more housing in both urban and rural communities
This could be seen locally after nearly 1000 acres of mostly agricultural land to urban boundaries left some locals confused and frustrated.
