The 23 Gordon Street expansion in Guelph has now opened, helping provide emergency shelter beds and transitional housing for those in need.
In Spring of 2023, staff had been working with Stepping Stone and Grinham Architects to find ways to expand the facility which will now provide 24 additional shelter beds and 12 new transitional housing units.
These units will help increase services in the emergency shelter system to help address the increasing homelessness in Guelph and Wellington County.
Warden Chris White says the goal of the County and its community partners has always been to create more safe, stable places for those in the community experiencing homelessness.
