Junior Hockey Seasons Delayed

Due to lockdown, the season will start later

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is pushing back their season due to the province wide lockdown.

As the province is set to lockdown on Saturday, the league has had to pause their return to play which was set in mid-January.

In a statement, league commissioner Mark Tuck said they continue to work with health units and keep working on their plan to safely return to the ice.

The OHL announced as well the delay of the start of their season. The league was set to kickoff on February 4th but due to lockdown will need to make adjustments. There is no set when the season will start, a decision will be made once a better picture of when lockdown will end.
