MPP Matthew Rae has announced funding to support the Minto-Mapleton Family Health Team for more staffing.
Funding to the tune of $568,628 will allow the health team to add two nurse practitioners, a registered practical nurse and a receptionist.
The addition for staff will allow care to be provided to an additional 1400-1600 residents.
The investment is part of province wide $110 million to connect up to 328,000 people to a primary care provider.
Rae says this is the first major expansion in Ontario of inter-professional primary care teams since their inception in 2005.
