Kyle Gemin has been given a life sentence for the murder of his 74 year old grandfather in 2020.

The former Belwood resident will serve 15 years in prison before he’s considered eligible for parole.

The decision was handed down in Guelph court on December 15th by Superior Court Justice Gordan Lemon.

A jury convicted Kyle of second degree murder following the trail which started September 11th.

Nine jurors suggested he serve 20 years before being eligible for parole, another saying 25 years and one 10 years with one making no recommendation with the jurors agreeing there was intent to kill.
