The Maitland Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook Statement for all municipalities within the Maitland and Nine Mile River Watershed.
A Colorado Low is forecasted to move over the Great Lakes and bring heavy amount of rainfall starting today and last into Thursday.
Water levels in streams and rivers across the watershed remain slightly elevated due to recent rainfall and with more coming there can be a rapid rise in river levels.
Municipal officials are being encouraged to prepare, check drainage systems and monitor low lying and flood prone roads.
