As snowfall still hammers the area, the North Perth Fire Department is offering up volunteer hours for high school students to help do their part in keeping the community safe.

The community is being reminded to clear off fire hydrants on their property of snow and ice to save the fire department time when answering a call.

The fire department is allowing high school students to record volunteer hours for those who clear off fire hydrants across the area.

Volunteer fire sheets can be brought to the Listowel Fire Station for signatures.

Students will need to provide a location of the hydrant cleared or a selfie of themselves with the hydrant.
