While speaking with West Perth council, Fire Chief Bill Hunter gave a breakdown on the search conducted for Taleya Paris.
The 10 year old first went missing in the Whirl Creek area on Sunday March 5th with a large search being conducted, ending on Monday March 14th when the body of the child was located.
Chief Hunter says the support from other fire departments was overwhelming.
“Our West Perth Firefighters were assisted by firefighters from St Marys, Sebringville, Milverton, Shakespeare, North Perth, Bryanston, Zorra, Northern Bruce Peninsula and Hanover. The London Fire Department didn’t send any personnel up but they did provide us with equipment we could use.” said Hunter.
A combined emergency service debrief from OPP, Fire and other who assisted in the search will be given in the near future.
The Wellington Street Bridge which was decorated with stuffed animals was respectfully taken down on Tuesday with plans to donate to the family or to a cause.
