To help celebrate 80 years of the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games, the Wellington County Museum and Archives are opening a special commemorative display of the history of the festival.
The exhibition will be open through to September in the Archives Reading Room.
The display is complete with historical artifacts, photographs and memorabilia which tells the story of how the Fergus Highland Games evolved from a local event to be recognized internationally.
Elizabeth Bender, Executive Director of the Fergus Scottish Festival says this partnership works perfectly with what the museum is all about.
“This is what the museum does well, they celebrate the community well, they do the historical pieces and the archiving of things, we’ve worked with them for years. This is a chance to bring this out and get a display that showcases all of the greatest things of the festival since its beginning in 1946.” said Bender.
Celebrating 80 years, the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games runs August 8th-10th.
