The federal government will release its 2022 budget next week as many expect to see a delivery on unfulfilled election promises, new social programs and a pact to boost Canada’s military spending.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said Tuesday this year’s spending plan will be delivered on April 7th and says the focus will be on economic growth.
This will be the first budget since September’s federal election.
With tensions in Ukraine from the invasion from Russia, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a promise to NATO allies to increasing Canada’s military spending.
