The federal and provincial government will be expanding Ontario’s meat processing workforce with a $127,000 investment.
This is to help support a research initiative by Meat and Poultry Ontario to identify regions to increase meat processing capacity in order to meet the demands for slaughterhouses across the province.
Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ernie Hardeman says the meat processing sector is an important contributor to Ontario’s economy.
Since 2018 the federal and provincial governments have support more than 4400 projects to help Ontario farmers, processors and businesses to innovate and grow.
