The Feather Board Command Centre says a buffered bio security advisory has been issued near Hanover after a reported high mortality incident in a poultry flock.
The issued was given to farms within a 10 kilometer area around Hanover.
Poultry farmers are asked to keep poultry away from wild birds, ensure equipment is disinfected before taking it into a poultry house and to maintain high sanitation standards.
Around 84,000 birds in Ontario have died since a new strain of bird flu was detected in the province last month.
