Farm & Food Care Ontario held their 2022 Annual Conference Today at the GrandWay Event Centre in Elora operated by the Grand River Agricultural Society.
On hand were MPP for Huron-Bruce and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Lisa Thompson. Thompson announced funding in the amount of $547,200 to fund Farm & Food Care outreach initiatives over the next three years.
The funding will see events such as breakfasts on or from farms to provide a unique experience for non-farming Ontarios to explore, farm tours for culinary students, interviews, photography and videography work showcasing the cricial work of agricultural workers in the Province, the Garden Box program that connects home gardeners with Ontario farmers and numerous digital outreach activities.
Topics of the Panel Discussions and Presentations included the Impact of Covid-19, Farming the Fields of Social Media, Presentation of the Ontario Champion Award and a Keynote Speech from Bill Carr, a Communications Expert on Relating Remotely vs Remotely Relating and the Art of Working Remotely in a Health & Productive Way.
The event also included an Overview of Farm & Food Care Ontario’s Initiatives.
