Farm Credit Canada announced today that they are giving $1.5 million dollars through their FCC AgriSpirit Fund to 88 community groups across Canada to support rural capital projects.
FCC Executive Vice President and COO Sophie Perrault says that the Fund supports projects that make positive changes in rural communities.
She adds that giving is not just about making a donation it’s about making a difference. FCC hopes all the community groups receiving funds will thrive and continue to do good work in their communities for many more years to come.
Three local municipalities are getting $27,000 in funding; the St Marys Fire Department is getting $7,000 for new fire resistant coveralls, West Perth is getting $10,000 to renovate the community centre washrooms for accessibility and the Howick Fire Department is getting $10,000 to outfit a fire tankers with 2 water tanks and a portable pump.
