OPP is warning the public of a new scam involving fake traffic tickets.
Across the west region, residents have reported getting texts claiming to be from the Ontario Government over traffic violations with fraudsters exploiting the increased use of photo radar and automated speed enforcement systems.
Police say if you are given a ticket from speed catching devices you will not get a text and instead actual tickets will be mailed to the vehicle owners registered address as well as the details and penalty of the infraction.
