Wellington County’s Experimental Acres application period has opened for 2026.
To program designed for farmers was first introduced in 2022 as a support to test regenerative agriculture practices on farmers operations.
The program offers a range of resources such as micro grants of up $3000, soil analysis, staff guidance, peer networking as well as community events to help reduce financial and technical risks associated with trying new things.
Justine Dainard, Smart Cities Manager says they work with participants to shape projects around their own goals and conditions as they are the experts on their own land.
Applications are due January 16th.
