Escaped Turkey in Stratford Finds New Home

It was quite the scene in Stratford a few weeks ago when an injured turkey was on the roads in the city blocking traffic.

Stratford police say they aren’t entirely certain how exactly the turkey got out into the city but believe it to be have jumped off a livestock truck where it was quickly scooped up by police and taken to the Stratford-Perth Humane Society.

If the turkey was indeed intended for slaughter, it’s gotten a new lease on life who was adopted by Janita Fowler where the turkey now lives on the farm with other rescue animals.
