Its Emergency Preparedness Week and Perth County is making sure residents have all they need to be ready and prepare to face a range of emergencies.
Emergencies can happen at anytime and without warning forcing you to respond quickly to help both yourself and others.
The three main outlines to prepare include knowing the risks, making a plan as well as having an emergency kit.
Part of the emergency plan includes knowing all the exits in your home and neighbourhood, having a meeting place to reunite with family and knowing the locations of your fire extinguisher, water valve, electrical panel and gas valve.
