The Elora Waste Facility is closing temporarily for construction next week.
Taking place April 5th at the end of the day, the waste facility is expected to reopen in December.
During the closure, residents are encouraged to use curbside collection or use the County’s other waste facilities.
Construction brings upgrades including site grading and reconfiguration for easier access to bins, installation of weigh scales for standardized operations and construction of a new household hazardous waste building and scale house.
Steve, O’Neill, Chair of the Solid Waste Services Committee says by modernizing the site and implementing a Diversion Centre Model, they can divert more materials from landfill, helping extend the lifespan of our County owned landfill in Riverstown.
