Elma Landfill Will Start Accepting Some Packaging Oct. 1

North Perth residents will soon have a chance to get rid of all that packaging in your basement and garage.

The Municipality and Elma landfill is partnering with Second Wind Recycling out of St. Thomas and will be accepting certain types of Expanded Polystyrene for free.

More commonly referred to as styrofoam, it is not biodegradable and won’t break down.

Beginning October 1st they will accept the packaging from items like computers, televisions, and electronics.

Items not accepted include take out food containers, disposable dishware, packing peanuts, and coffee cups.
