OPP say there was fewer car crashes in 2020 but the deaths saw a new historical break for the year.
Police say the drop in collisions was mainly due to the pandemic and stay at home orders which kept a good number of drivers and pedestrians at home, falling 26 percent from 2019 but deaths rose 22 percent.
The majority of driving related deaths were mostly caused from careless or dangerous driving. 62 deaths were speed related, 51 from alcohol or drug use and 45 to inattention from drivers.
