On May 1st at approximately 11:15pm a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 17 near Alma.
The officer observed a grey passenger vehicle travelling westbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit.
The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.
A 36 year old female of Cambridge has been charged with racing a motor vehicle excessive speed contrary to the highway traffic act.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Provincial Offences Court in Guelph on July 21st.
The vehicle and driver’s license were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
