With the greater return to normal day after day and week after week there are events returning to our social calendar.
One of the social events returning to the Drayton calendar is the Cruise Night and Car Show in September.
The person in charge of the event is Christian Giffin. He speaks to the feeling of the event returning to Drayton.
“It is a great feeling simply because it’s just another sign that eventually things will get back to a version of normal.”
The event on Monday, September 6th at the Drayton Municipal Parking Lot will feature a wide variety of automobiles. Christian speaks of what types of vehicles will be on display.
“You are going to see cars like classic, 50’s and 60’s. You are going to see souped up Mustang type cars you are going to see muscle cars. It’s a lot of fun actually.”
The Rotary Club will be also be running some fundraisers at the Cruise Night and Car Show as well. Christian tells us the ways they will be raising money for charity.
“A local business, which my son owns, Hometown Hotdogs, will be loaning a grill to the Rotary Club. We are going to be making some awesome burgers. We are also licensing a beer tent to serve alcohol in a fenced off area. We will also have a 50/50 draw and depending on how much money is raised the winner will receive half of the pot.”
If anyone has a car they would like to show off at the Cruise Night and Car Show the way to get entered is easy.
“All they have to do is bring a donation for our local food bank. That is the entry fee.”
