Royal Canadian Legion Mourns Loss of WWII Veteran Nora Doig

Listowel Native was a proud World War II veteran who rose to the rank of Sergeant. She served from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed in Ottawa.

The Royal Canadian Legion has lost a valued member.

Nora Doig, a Veteran of World War II, passed away on Saturday.

She was 97.

Nora was a proud World War II veteran who rose to the rank of Sergeant. She served from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed in Ottawa.

Her last assignment was overseeing the return of soldiers and equipment from Europe.

A private family funeral and Legion Memorial Service will be held at Parkview Gardens on Wednesday, April 13th at 1pm.

The service will be lived streamed and the link will be available at the Funeral Home website at the link below.

A public celebration of Nora’s life will follow from 2 to 4pm. Masks would be appreciated by the family.
