Many remain on the fence about receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. For some still unsure, safety is the biggest concern after reports of thing such as blood clots from some receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Dr. Kim Gilmour from Huron-Perth Public Health says a blood clot from contracting COVID is much higher
“COVID chances of getting a blood clot, 1 in 5. Chance of getting a blood clot after receiving an AstraZeneca vaccine, 1 in 250,000.” said Dr. Gilmour
Gilmour adding even though the number of developing a blood clot from the AstraZeneca vaccine is very low, its enough to pay attention in the world of vaccine safety and see what happens with the blood clots.
The AstraZeneca vaccine will become available from pharmacies for those 40 and older starting Tuesday.
